UNL Winter Wheat Meeting And Tour Of Variety Trial

UNL Crop Specialists will conduct a meeting at the Atkinson Livestock Market at 7:00 A.M. on Friday, June 6th.

A breakfast sponsored by Arrow Seed of Broken Bow and Syngenta Seed Care of Kearney will be served during the meeting.

The meeting will include a discussion on the importance of winter wheat variety selection, seed treatments, and how to select winter wheat varieties. The use of fungicides for disease control also will be discussed.

Following the breakfast meeting UNL educators will conduct a tour of the UNL Irrigated Winter Wheat Variety Trial located on Tim Borer’s farm. The plots are located 4 miles east of Atkinson from the Hwy 20 and Hwy 11 Junction on the northeast corner of town (junction of 480 and 877) and then 3/4 miles north.
